StreetW!se Assembly
Our Secondary Pupils Attend Street W!se Assembly on Youth Safety
On Monday 11th November, students at Capella House Secondary joined the borough-wide initiative for youth safety by participating in the Street W!se assembly. This program, part of a broader rollout across all secondary schools in our area, aims to provide young people with crucial information and strategies to stay safe when out and about.
The assembly focused on equipping our students with practical tips on personal safety and guidance on handling emergencies, including knowing whom to contact if they find themselves in a challenging situation. The session underscored the importance of awareness and preparedness, fostering a sense of confidence and security for our students as they navigate public spaces.
As a takeaway, each student received a travel card holder imprinted with key safety messages and emergency contacts—a useful, everyday reminder of the strategies covered.
To further support these safety lessons, we have attached two brief Safety Guides: one for Parents & Carers and another for Young People. These guides summarise the assembly's main points and can help facilitate follow-up conversations at home, reinforcing the valuable safety principles introduced during the session.
If you have questions or need further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We hope that through programs like Street W!se, our students feel more empowered and prepared in the community.
